Representa Corisco 2014 – Eletro I-Man

Ricardo Cancado, aka VJ Eletroiman, is a Brazilian VJ who works with imagery inspired by Brazilian popular culture. His work establishes an intercultural dialogue with the public and presents an authentic and complex universe through a hybrid language mixing video with other techniques including photography, drawing, 3D, and 2D animation.

VJ Eletroiman has been developing project Representa Corisco (representacorisco.com) since the beginning of 2003. This explores political and social issues through the iconography of the “cangaço” movement and one of its characters: Corisco. This was an armed movement fighting the Brazilian elites during the 19th and 20th century.

In addition to his artistic work, VJ Eletroiman is the organizer of the Festival Visual Brasil, http://www.festivalvisualbrasil.com and the founder of Hybrid Project http://proyectohibrido.org.

Ricardo Cançado, aka VJ Eletroiman, ist ein brasilianischer VJ. Seine Arbeit ist von der brasilianischen Populärkultur beeinflusst und generiert dabei einen interkulturellen Dialog mit dem Publikum. Seine audiovisuelle Performance Representa Corisco (representacorisco.com) ist an die Bildsprache des “cangaço” und einer der zentralen Figuren, „Corisco“, angelehnt. “Cangaço” war eine bewaffnete Bewegung im Nordosten von Brasilien, die über zwei Jahrhunderte bestand hatte. Ricardo Cançado greift in seiner Performance auf einen Pool von Bildmaterial zurück, der seit 2003 stetig erweitert wird. Das gesamte Bildmaterial wurde von den Videokünstlern João Maciel and Ricardo Cançado entwickelt. 

Zusätzlich zu seiner künstlerischen Arbeit, organisiert VJ Eletroiman das Festival Visual Brasil http://www.festivalvisualbrasil.com und ist Gründer des Hybrid Project http://proyectohibrido.org.

Ricardo hat bereits 8mal das VJ Torna gewonnen.
